Charity Trumps Fashion

I’m sorry to interrupt your regular scheduled Water and Wine Wardrobe programming but there is an important announcement to make. There are more important things than fashion, as hard as that is for me to admit, and yesterday was a big day that I felt needed to be acknowledged. My best friend Simone made a massive career change to become a Sinead O’Connor impersonator! No, I’m just kidding, but she did shave all her hair off for the World’s Greatest Shave! I am so “dance mum” proud of her and this incredibly selfless act! Unfortunately, I would never be brave enough to see what my scalp looks like (Simone’s got a great one in case you were wondering). Simone has raised over $5000 for the Leukaemia Foundation and has helped to put into perspective what’s important in life.

I couldn’t let my girl go without a bit of styling though, so I hooked her up with some earrings for post shave. Statement earrings are very on trend, especially big hoops and bright colours with tassels. They are an easy and economical way to add more interest and personality to a ‘plain’ outfit and help draw extra attention to your beautiful face. For Simone, or for anyone who has short hair or even when wearing your hair up, earrings are a great way to frame your face and should not be overlooked as an accessory. I went with silver for Simone as it’s what she wears most and the shade compliments her skin tone. See, I can’t help it, I had to add my fashion two cents. I will do a more in depth post on jewellery in the future but today is about celebrating Simone and her beautiful head.

I also wanted to take this opportunity for a PSA, to inform you that I will be switching to posting fortnightly instead of weekly for the foreseeable future. I hope you all understand that this is my part time passion and producing content worth your time takes time. In my style philosophy and in life I believe in quality over quantity, am I right Simone? Too soon? So, we will resume our regular scheduled programming next week with the first post of a blog series I’m doing that I can’t wait to share with you. However, subsequently, I’ll have regular, hopefully fabulous content for you every fortnight.

I hope you don’t feel too gypped about the shorter, off topic post this week and I hope to see you back here next Monday. In the meantime, if you are also impressed with Simone’s efforts, you can donate at;

And yes, her head does feel great! And Simone; “Nothing compares. Noth-ING compares to you!”

Love Hayley
